Eight authors, each an expert on trekking in the Himalaya, have shared vivid accounts of their treks, as well as stunning photos. One of the authors is our Managing Director, Steve Berry. In this book, Steve writes about three of his most exciting adventures: Zanskar Dream Trek and the Nanda Devi Approach, both in India and Gangkar Punsum Approach in Bhutan.

Elephant competition - entries now in

We've had about 200 entries in for our elephant colouring and naming competition. We've decorated our office windows with as many as we can, and have lots of people stopping to take a look at all the wonderful talent our local school children have. They really have been creative; it is going to be difficult to decide on a winner. Meanwhile, our wooden elephant carving is still on board the ship sailing to the UK….

North India floods – Oxfam appeal

North India floods – Oxfam appeal

Extreme weather conditions in Uttarakand, India, disrupted our Operations Manager, Niki Morgan's recent recconaissance trek to the Kuari Pass. Early monsoon rains, thought to be the heaviest in 80 years, have caused mass flooding in northern India. The torrential rain has damaged roads and homes, and triggered landslides. Aware of the devastation this has caused to those caught in the floods, Mountain Kingdoms is donating £500 to Oxfam's India flood relief appeal. Oxfam is providing humanitarian assistance to some of the worst affected.
