Well organised , no wasted time, action packed and good camaraderie
Brilliant holiday from colours, expertise, hands on to items to buy with no obligation. Well organised , no wasted time, action packed and good camaraderie. Good mix of very varied activities. Loved the sights, sounds, atmosphere and friendliness of the people we met.
I would highly recommend this trip!!
In February 2020 I fulfilled a long term ambition of travelling to the Sahara and I absolutely loved it. I was amazed by the variety of things we saw and how straightforward the trekking was. I would highly recommend this trip!!
Private Itinerary Churcher - Annapurna Sanctuary & Langtang, Nepal
We really appreciated the ability to tailor the holiday to our very exacting needs. It was great to be able to knit together two of the classic treks, Annapurna Basecamp and Langtang. The guide and company were also flexible during the trek enabling us to finish the Langtang trek a day early and then to have a full day in Kathmandu..
The trip was fantastic ; exceeded all expectations.
The trip was fantastic ; exceeded all expectations. An action packed trip which ,despite some long bus journeys was exciting and unexpected. The people were welcoming and embarrassingly grateful for us being there , thanking us all the time. There was some challenging walking through the forests but very rewarding by hearing and seeing wonderful wildlife. The guides were all very well informed and movingly spoke about their family's experiences during the horrific Khymer Rouge overthrow . A great mixture of jungle and wildlife plus historical temples .
Absolutely outstanding from beginning to end
Absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. We completely fell in love with Nepal, the scenery, the wildlife, and especially the exceptional kindness and hospitality of the Nepali people. The trek does require physical fitness as the stone steps are unrelenting on the 2,300 feet descents ('gentle' is relative, this is the Himalayas) but if your knees are up to it, don't hesitate. If the weather is clear the rewards are spectacular. We are a reasonably fit 61 and 73 and we managed it (just about!). We are already planning our next trip.
We saw an amazing array of animals.
We saw an amazing array of animals, including gorillas, lions, chimpanzees, elephants, hippos, rhinos and some beautiful birds. Everything was very well organised, the accommodation was of a good standard along with the food. Our guides, Jurius and Hamid, were very knowledgeable and cared about our welfare. The only downside was the unpaved roads which after a few hours was rather uncomfortable. We had an incredible experience which I can totally recommend.
Excellent varied itinerary, well planned.
Excellent varied itinerary, well planned. The accommodations was of a very good standard and I particularly enjoyed staying at the small eco lodges.
A wonderful trip
This was a wonderful trip to a beautiful part of India. All the accommodation was of a very high standard and the various local guides in each place we visited were really excellent - very knowledgeable, good English and friendly. We enjoyed the walks which were not too strenuous and there was often the added excitement of would we see a tiger or an elephant along the way! We did see a beautiful elderly elephant calmly foraging for her food, and evidence of tigers, leopards and wild dogs having passed by our path even though we didn’t see them in person. The many included meals were much appreciated and delicious. Our driver was very organised and helpful and drove us safely at all times. The trip is very highly recommended. We will definitely use Mountain Kingdoms again.
A wonderful two week tour of Sri Lanka
A wonderful two week tour of Sri Lanka, where the gentle walking gave us an insight into day to day living.

Trekking the Pekoe trail was awesome
Trekking the Pekoe trail was awesome. Amazing views, challenging terrain and great walks through tea plantations.
Opportunity to visit some of the less well known parts of Sri Lanka
The opportunity to visit some of the less well known parts of Sri Lanka and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the highlands.
Cambodia is extremely varied and interesting
Cambodia is extremely varied and interesting. This tour included cities, forests, rivers, jungle, beach resorts and several temples each with distinctive character. The Cambodian people were warm and friendly. Hotel and camp accommodation were generally very good quality. Food likewise. In some of the more rural/remote locations standards were unavoidably a little lower. We always felt safe throughout.
We saw or heard well over 100 different species
The trip was excellent, I really enjoyed it. We saw the wide variety of landscapes that Costa Rica offers and, as I hoped, lots of birds and wildlife. We saw or heard well over 100 different species of birds, plus wildlife such sloths, iguanas, 3 types of monkey, snakes, a crocodile, a Caiman and lots of other animals. Our guide, Rey, was fantastic - so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his country - we learned so much more than we could have on a self-guided holiday.
An excellent trek
An excellent trek with stunning views, varied scenery and well-paced itinerary, giving extra time at the base camps to enjoy the mountain views and acclimatise to the altitude. The guides were very attentive and looked after us all day, ordering meals and drinks, as well as leading us on the route and informing us about the local customs and terrain.
Rich and varied schedule
Rich and varied schedule with a very knowledgeable local guide. Amazing wild life to see and photograph. Very comfortable and spacious hotel rooms with good choice of food.
A lifetime of memories
An excellent way to get an overview of landscape, culture, and daily life in Bhutan. The homestays and festival were particularly interesting. A few long drives on quite challenging roads but we were in safe hands with our wonderful driver, and our guide was proud to share his wealth of knowledge about the country. This holiday packs a lot in but provides a lifetime of memories.
This was a fantastic trip
Bhutan is an incredible country and the mountain scenery was spectacular. This and the amazing views of the Himalayas from the flight was probably one of the highlights of my trip. All of the local people we met were delightful and the culture is fascinating. Mountain Kingdoms were fantastic all the way through. Overall, this was a fantastic trip.
A fantastic introduction to Bhutan
This trip was a fantastic introduction to Bhutan and the people of Bhutan for a first time visitor and has whetted our appetites to see and do more in this wonderful country! There were plenty of highlights - beautiful Phobjikha and the Black Necked Crane Festival, the wonderful hike to the Tiger's Nest monastery, visiting the pretty hilltop village of Talo - just to name a few. The tour was very well organised and well paced and our guide Karma and driver Gyen could not have looked after us better. The hotels were very comfortable and staff all incredibly helpful and friendly.
Once in a lifetime experience
At my age and stage in life, this was a once in a lifetime experience and I was not disappointed. Everything about the trip was first rate from the leadership of our guide to the amazing porters, fantastic accommodation and stunning views. The guide made sure that everyone was safe and gave us confidence to climb (and descend) those steep hills.
