Manaslu Circuit Trek, Nepal

Beautiful Manaslu

The most beautiful place I have ever seen.

A trip that had it all!

A full-on trip that had it all - the key Silk Road sites, modern Tashkent and mountain walking in sun, torrential rain and snow! The sightseeing is very structured with a lot of information provided by the guides. The walking, weather aside, is relatively straightforward and not too strenuous, although we were unable to climb Little Chimgan due to the adverse weather conditions.

Silk Road to Samarkand

Excellent holiday on the Silk Road

Overall the holiday was excellent, so much interesting history. Travelling between cities was very comfortable, both by train and road although occasionally the road surfaces were bumpy. The Uzbek people are so warm and welcoming, delighted to see visitors and eager to chat and get to know about you. We always felt safe exploring on our own. The arts and crafts are beautiful and we purchased pottery, textiles and paintings to remind us of our time in Uzbekistan.

Dana Trek to Petra

A proper Jordan adventure

The Dana Trek to Petra was a proper Jordan adventure. Our guide, who was a Bedouin himself, did everything he could to make us embrace his culture and way of living. Every day was a new discovery of food and scenery, ending in Petra which was incredible.

Druk Path Trek

An unforgettable experience

An unforgettable experience on many levels that exceeded already high expectations. The cultural history is fascinating, monasteries and dzongs providing exquisite settings in which to learn about this unique country. The trek was extraordinary, taking us through forests humming with cicadas, up rivers, along ridges with views of the verdant valleys far below, boulders, lakes, a yak. All enhanced by our truly exceptional guide, Ugyen and his crew. So grateful to have made this trip.

Mount Chomolhari & Lingshi Bhutan

Mount Chomolhari, Bhutan

This was a perfect short, first family trek for us. Getting away for a week and walking with my teenage sons, with no devices and no external pressures, was wonderful. The Mountain Festival gave us a taste of Bhutanese culture, including their focus on conservation and sustainability. The day walk to Tsho Phu lakes above Jangothang was one of the most beautiful I've ever done, and had some fantastic wildlife too. Taktsang was the perfect finale, and again had good wildlife. Sherab was a great leader.

Silk Road to Samarkand

Very good guide

The food was very tasty and plentiful. The guide was very good. She knew her stuff and was a mine of information. A very kind and thoughtful lady.

Druk Path Trek

Loved Bhutan

I loved Bhutan - everything about it. Our guide, Ugyen was really excellent. The hotels were all good quality. The trek was good - the views and food were suberb. We enjoyed our second visit to Nepal - the Dwarika's hotel (out of Kathmandu) and our meal at the Dwarika's in Kathmandu on our extension.

Druk Path Trek

Not disappointed!

Bhutan only opened post-covid a week before our trip and we had waited over 2 years to be able to go so our expectations were very high and we were not disappointed. Amazing scenery and sights with the most hospitable people you're ever likely to meet. Our guide was superb and all the camp crew were great. The Druk Path trek may be a short trek but the altitude makes it more challenging as most of it is over 3500m, we were well looked after and the food was amazing on the camp.

Gentle Walking Islands of Croatia

Relaxing and enjoyable

We loved the Croatian scenery, the itinerary, the variety of walks ranging from city walks in Split and Dubrovnik to walking in the national park in Mljet and ‘lost villages’ in Hvar, Travelling by ferries made it a different, relaxing and enjoyable experience. Having a local and enthusiastic leader contributed to the enjoyment of the holiday.

Cappadocia & the St Paul Trail

Cappadocia & St Paul Trail - Private Itinerary

The combination of walking in Cappadocia together with hiking sections of the St Paul Trail is a perfect blend of exploring some of Turkey's most dramatic landscapes, whilst being largely off the beaten track. We loved the sense of being part of history and meeting local villagers and nomads following a way of life which in many ways has remained unchanged. Excellent informative guiding, welcoming hosts, delicious food, and time to relax in the Old City of Antalya at the end - just GO!

Claree Valley - Private itinerary

The Claree Valley far exceeded my expectations as a walking destination. Every corner we turned revealed another astonishing vista. The autumnal colours were so bright, the trees seemed to glow. The trip covers two valleys and each day begins in a different area. There are walks in the valleys, along the ridges, down through gorges and to high mountain ponds. The paths were well marked, if challenging in places. Our guide Antoine Allier was excellent - enthusiastic and knowledegable.

Gentle Walking Islands of Croatia

Islands of Croatia

A wonderful introduction to the islands of Croatia bookended with guided walks around the cities of Split and Dubrovnik. Marko was a brilliant guide.

Gentle Walking Canadian Rockies

Marvellous Rockies

What a marvellous trek in the magnificent Rockies. We visited many different areas, walked in stunning landscapes - mountains, lakes, glaciers - all beautiful. Our guide, Marianne, was just perfect - knowledgeable, attentive, enthusiastic, great fun and a terrific cook too! All the accommodation was very good. From start to finish I couldn't have asked for better. Thanks to all the very helpful, pleasant staff for their advice throughout the planning and assistance when required.

Silk Road to Samarkand

Silk Road sights

Pleased we went on this trip and saw lots of wonderful sights.

Colours of India - Gujarat Textiles

Wonderful holiday

A wonderful couple of weeks with a bit of everything from palaces to safaris, saris to festivals, and top notch artisan crafts. To see the processes from the cotton boll in the field to spinning, weaving, printing, dying, embroidery, etc was amazing. Such skills and lovely people.

Colours of India - Gujarat Textiles

Fabulous holiday!

Fabulous holiday! We saw such a variety of high quality textiles and watched the processes through from the cotton plant, via spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, to stunning embroidery; all in real villages and towns in a fascinating part of India. The beautiful, gentle people of Gujarat made the trip very special.

Trails of Capri & the Amalfi Coast

Fantastic!

The hotel was an absolute gem...end of the season and Nicola, owner and chef, has an absolute passion for food that made you feel it was his opening week and everything had to be perfect. The scenario is magnificent and the local guide fantastic with a real deep understanding of their environment. Pompeii was stunning though a authorised tour guide would probably have been advisable over the hand-held audio guide.

Colours of India - Gujarat Textiles

Colours of India

The variety and quality of the textiles we saw far exceeded our expectations.

Silk Road to Samarkand

Lovely country and people

I loved: The country, the lovely people, the fabulous buildings and the beautiful cities - especially Khiva and Buchara. The theatre trip and dancing/folk show! Markets, pottery, craft stops - carpet and silk paper makers (lovely site). Good food - although we personally found full breakfast and two four course meals each day (especially with the lack of choice) was too much!
