An amazing experience. We were well looked after. The guide was excellent
This trip is perfect if you want to experience the Bhutanese culture. There are lots of visits to Buddhist temples, walks through villages and towns, and the Punakha festival was a feast for the eyes, with everyone dressed in their best. The food in Bhutan is not particularly exciting, so not a trip for ‘foodies’. The hotels were mixed, which I did not mind, but one was very cold, and one was changed after the first night. If this would bother you, consider paying for higher grade hotels. If you are a nervous passenger be aware that mountain roads have few crash barriers and steep drops, but our driver was amazing and I never felt unsafe. The climb to Tigers Nest Monastery on the last day was a wonderful finale. The guide was excellent. There was only 6 people on the trip, and we all got on very well.
Spectacular scenery and architecture experienced under a cloudless sky. Reaching Taktsang Monastery was the highlight of my time in Bhutan. Excellent customer service from all concerned. Would have no hesitation in recommending Mountain Kingdoms.
A truly amazing experience. A well- paced itinerary, an excellent guide and driver, who enabled us to get a real feel of the country, its culture, traditions and people.
A relatively gentle but varied and adventurous exposure of this very different and charming country. "Unique" is a much used adjective, but Bhutan really does deserve the description from its flora, fauna, animal, and bird life. But perhaps the most striking difference is in its national outlook and pride - where else does almost everyone wear with pride their national costume everyday, or measure national and individual success in terms of happiness rather than material terms? And the scenery is breath-taking (as is the effect of the many high passes one crosses!)
A well planned adventure in a lovely country. Very high quality transport. I even got to meet the king! Everything seemed to have been thought of.
We had the most unforgettable holiday in Bhutan. Apart from visiting all the cultural sites, we were invited to join local people having a picnic at the Paro Tsechu, listened to the nuns singing their prayers at the Kila Gompa nunnery set high in the mountainside and even tried our hand at archery, their national sport. Our guide was exceptional and all the arrangements for our stay were excellent. We felt very privileged to have been able to visit this beautiful country and it's people.
We enjoyed travelling as a small group.
A most enlightening trip to a mountain kingdom which will remain in my memories as an extremely spiritual and peaceful experience. A great team gave us some very special insight into the harmony of life in Bhutan. The Black-Necked Crane Festival was most interesting.
Being in a small group. Visiting the Haa Valley which seemed to be off the regular tourist circuit. My fellow travellers were delightful. Our local guide Karma and drive Sangay were both excellent and most helpful. I especially enjoyed our visit to the Haa Valley and would recommend that it become a regular feature of trips to Bhutan.
