Trekking the Pekoe trail was awesome. Amazing views, challenging terrain and great walks through tea plantations.
The opportunity to visit some of the less well known parts of Sri Lanka and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the highlands.
Cambodia is extremely varied and interesting. This tour included cities, forests, rivers, jungle, beach resorts and several temples each with distinctive character. The Cambodian people were warm and friendly. Hotel and camp accommodation were generally very good quality. Food likewise. In some of the more rural/remote locations standards were unavoidably a little lower. We always felt safe throughout.
The trip was excellent, I really enjoyed it. We saw the wide variety of landscapes that Costa Rica offers and, as I hoped, lots of birds and wildlife. We saw or heard well over 100 different species of birds, plus wildlife such sloths, iguanas, 3 types of monkey, snakes, a crocodile, a Caiman and lots of other animals. Our guide, Rey, was fantastic - so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his country - we learned so much more than we could have on a self-guided holiday.
An excellent trek with stunning views, varied scenery and well-paced itinerary, giving extra time at the base camps to enjoy the mountain views and acclimatise to the altitude. The guides were very attentive and looked after us all day, ordering meals and drinks, as well as leading us on the route and informing us about the local customs and terrain.
Rich and varied schedule with a very knowledgeable local guide. Amazing wild life to see and photograph. Very comfortable and spacious hotel rooms with good choice of food.
An excellent way to get an overview of landscape, culture, and daily life in Bhutan. The homestays and festival were particularly interesting. A few long drives on quite challenging roads but we were in safe hands with our wonderful driver, and our guide was proud to share his wealth of knowledge about the country. This holiday packs a lot in but provides a lifetime of memories.
Bhutan is an incredible country and the mountain scenery was spectacular. This and the amazing views of the Himalayas from the flight was probably one of the highlights of my trip. All of the local people we met were delightful and the culture is fascinating. Mountain Kingdoms were fantastic all the way through. Overall, this was a fantastic trip.
This trip was a fantastic introduction to Bhutan and the people of Bhutan for a first time visitor and has whetted our appetites to see and do more in this wonderful country! There were plenty of highlights - beautiful Phobjikha and the Black Necked Crane Festival, the wonderful hike to the Tiger's Nest monastery, visiting the pretty hilltop village of Talo - just to name a few. The tour was very well organised and well paced and our guide Karma and driver Gyen could not have looked after us better. The hotels were very comfortable and staff all incredibly helpful and friendly.
At my age and stage in life, this was a once in a lifetime experience and I was not disappointed. Everything about the trip was first rate from the leadership of our guide to the amazing porters, fantastic accommodation and stunning views. The guide made sure that everyone was safe and gave us confidence to climb (and descend) those steep hills.
