From the moment we departed Calgary and joined the Trans Canada Highway, I knew that I was in for an extraordinary scenic treat. Beautiful emerald lakes, towering mountain peaks and the excitement of being on the lookout for roaming wildlife, all added to an unforgettable adventure. I didn’t want to leave.
This trip has many highlights but it's the little things that stay in my memory. I really loved the homestay at the little village of Sintaung, the family were so welcoming, the food was delicious and the whole experience was truly lovely.
A good adventure trip. Good small group size and great customer service.
Transport worked well, leader was knowledgeable and food was good. Route was good with a feeling of remoteness.
What we liked was that you use local people with their specialised knowledge and love of their country so we experience a more in-depth view of a place and its people. It was such a relaxing holiday because from the very beginning we had complete confidence in both our driver and tour guide. It was refreshing that they both ate and shared meals with us and we were able to treat and call each other friends. It was an excellent trip!!
Well-planned trip and well-organised. Helpful local staff.
Japan is a fascinating country, and it was particularly nice to be able to explore on foot, walking through beautiful unspoiled rural areas. I very much enjoyed immersing myself in Japanese culture, sleeping on futons and bathing in outdoor hot spring baths. Experiencing train travel was another bonus, especially negotiating the Tokyo underground at rush hour, thankfully led by our wonderful Japanese guide.

I loved the Tea Trails Bungalows. These genuine colonial bungalows offer something completely different to staying in a hotel. I was very well looked after by what felt like my own staff, and nothing was too much trouble. I could happily have stayed here the rest of my life.
A really well thought out itinerary - good choice of monasteries and a stunning drive back to Lhasa on the final day.
