We all felt we were offered (and felt we had to eat) far too much food! We much appreciated the quieter days built into the busy itinerary. All-in-all a tremendous holiday and introduction to a fascinating country. Thank you MK!
Excellent walking with beautiful, varied and unspoilt mountain scenery. October was a great time to visit with the brilliant autumn colours, and it was very quiet. Antoine Allier, our friendly and knowledgeable guide, was outstanding.
This was a wonderful trek. The guide and team were excellent. The route was well judged at a pace that suited all our small group. The cultural insights at the start and end of the holiday added an extra dimension. But the highlights were being alone in stunning scenery of the Himalaya, not meeting anyone but local yak herders for days on end. A real privilege to experience.
Great treks taking in most of those classic Patagonian vistas. The tour was well organised, hotels exceeded expectations and the EcoCamp was magnificent. Tour guides were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would strongly recommend this trip for reasonably fit walkers.
This trip provides the opportunity to visit one of the most spectacular areas of the world, and see close up how spectacular the mountain ranges, glaciers, lakes and surrounding landscapes are. The scenery is incredible - and at times hard to take in - but I feel privileged to have been taken by expert guides to some of the most stunning landscapes I have ever seen. The treks can be challenging but they are worth the effort, and the welcome you receive at your hotel makes it all worthwhile.
Such a well organised trip. Felt safe in the hands of the Mountain Kingdoms representatives in Nepal. They were helpful, friendly and well organised and kept our group well informed. It was a real pleasure having local sherpa guides on the trek - it felt very special to have access to knowledgeable guides who had a real connection to the local community and landscape. They did an excellent job, managing accomodation, food and, more importantly the daily trekking itineary. Great trip
The scenery is amazing, it has to be seen to be believed, the locals are fantastically warm and welcoming and the overall culture and experience is great. Lots of variety in the food and drink, the accommodation and toilets have significantly improved over the years though it's still quite an adjustment for those who are used to their home comforts. The EBC trail is now heavily used by trekkers, but the route to and from Gokyo is brilliant, much quieter. Overall, very well recommended.
Our guide, Kami, was not just our guide, he is more like a long lost friend, a teacher, part of the group. His depth of knowledge and infectious passion for just about everything brightens your day, lightens your load and makes the trek more than you ever imagined it could be. The whole team of porters and guides did everything they could to help us enjoy our trek and The Mk team were always on hand to help with any questions we had or arrangements that needed making or changing - exceptional.
Our guide was wonderful. He was informative, and funny, and he helped me to dive on the day. I would hike with him again. BUT... Gentle Walking I would dispute. The altitude and up and down was not an issue, nor were the distances - the loose rocks on the trails made gentle walking quite hard walking.
A fantastic trek in a beautiful and fascinating country with a unique culture. It was a tough trek but really well organised and the scenery was breathtaking. Our guide Tschering and the support staff were amazing, always helpful, cheerful and friendly and the quality of food was excellent despite the difficult conditions. The Bhutanese people could not have been warmer and more welcoming. A really wonderful holiday.
