The itinerary was excellent. Each day we saw/visited amazing, unique places that made me stop in my tracks. Feel lucky to have been to Tibet, I can't praise it enough. I loved the hotels in Tibet; may not have been 5 star but had character and the staff were excellent.
With Mountain Kingdoms we feel we are getting a different, better holiday experience to other tourists we came across during the trip.
Beautiful location, interesting walks, good small group. Our tailor made pre-trip extension was well organised and really enjoyable.
Excellent trip overall. What I enjoyed: the company, like minded individuals, the leader.
Really amazing holiday, exceeded expectations. Location of walks was stunning. Accommodation was excellent, quiet and in a lovely position. Food: wow. Leader was excellent. Good information and answering questions beforehand. Small group, not 'run of the mill'.
The scenery and natural environment in general on Lofoten is almost incomparable in its beauty and peacefulness. The lodge we stayed in is ideal, allowing flexibility and great comfort. All the food provided was excellent.
Just a big thank you to Mountain Kingdoms for organising our holiday which was absolutely fabulous.ÊThe islands are a hidden gem, on the last day the wall to wall sunshine made it feel like a mix of the Alps and the AegeanÉbut without lots of people, just sun, sea, snow-capped mountains and a view to die forÉ.what more could you want?Ê
I have fond memories of rock climbing in the Verdon Gorge when I was in my 20Õs. I remember belaying my climbing partner perched on a tiny ledge and looking down into the gorge below thinking Òmy God that looks nice down there, I must come back and walk through it one day.Ó It took 40 years to cure that small itch and I can tell you the trek more than lived up to expectationsÓ. Do it, because it really is fantastic.
The views were incredible and well worth the hike to the summits. Each summit being totally different and getting higher across the week, I felt a wonderful sense of achievement each time.
The walks were always very pleasant with ever varying scenery, taking us through picturesque villages, meadows carpeted with wild flowers, gorges with soaring limestone cliffs, and beech and fir forests. The history of the Cathars was fascinating and we got to explore many imposing castles including Peyrepertuse castle, which was the most impressive.
