Dana Trek to Petra
I enjoyed the Mountain Kingdoms philosophy of using less crowded routes and supporting local enterprise and culture.
Luxury Lodges to Ama Dablam Base Camp
Generally excellent. As with all group walking holidays they are going to attract walkers of differing abilities. The more detailed information/ grading of walks that can be provided would be most helpful to all.
Mera Peak - successful summit on 11 April 2019
Fantastic experience with Mountain Kingdoms! We had a party of 4, all of whom summitted Mera Peak on 11 April 2019. We had an excellent guide and team looking after us, changes to the itinerary and route that were made necessary due to heavy snowfall were dealt with smoothly and professionally. A good overview of our acclimatisation progress was kept by our guide, to gauge our readiness for the summit attempt. We were provided good food, snacks and hot drinks, even on the trail. The support of the local organisation was superb and we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
Hidden Valleys of Bhutan - highly recommended
Having always harboured a desire to travel to Bhutan, but lacking the confidence to face the bewildering set of rules required to enter and stay in the country, we used Mountain Kingdoms to arrange the trip for us. Travelling as a couple, we joined a group of eight. The whole experience, from first contacting Mountain Kingdoms to arriving back from the trip, was excellent. Mountain Kingdoms adapted to our relatively late addition to the tour and gave sound advice as we prepared to travel. In-country, the quality of the itinerary was excellent and the expertise of the guides was incredibly impressive. We were looked after well, and they made sure we got the absolute most out of our limited time.
Adventure of a lifetime
No praise can be too high for the wonderful guides and porters we had on our trek and also the superb staff at the lodges on the Ghandruk Loop. We would question if this was 'gentle' trekking however as we all found it far from gentle but lived to tell the tale! On the first full day for example we climbed up and down 4,500 steep stone steps so perhaps the word gentle is not an accurate description at all. Overall though we are so glad we went and the views of the Himalyas take your breath away.
A trip of a life time
From the moment we flew into the Himalaya’s the views were amazing, the trekking took you through rural areas and then into some really remote landscapes where the scenery is truly breathtaking. The trekking was hard at times but worth the effort and it made you feel like you were on top of the world. The tea houses were a welcome site and I was surprised at the choices of food that was offered.
Taste of the Himalayas
This holiday exceeded expectations. Everything was organised really well. We didn't have to worry about anything - just enjoy the holiday. The hotels were really comfortable and most had beautiful gardens and/or stunning views of the mountains. Both guides were so professional, knowledgeable and lots of fun. Loved the contrast between the two countries. The flight into Bhutan with views of Everest were phenomenal and the beauty, nature and scenery of both countries is something we will always remember. Thank you Mountain Kingdom for giving us the trip of a lifetime although we will probably go back!!
Luxury Lodges to AMA Dablam B.C.
Excellent trek, best in 20yrs of trekking. A really great guide and team.
An Excellent Holiday
A wonderful trip seeing many sights and scenery that you probably wouldn’t see if you arranged the trip yourself. It was very comforting to be staying in such beautiful places knowing you were safely being looked after. Well done Mountain Kingdoms.
Wonderful trek that we will remember forever
We booked the ABC luxury lodges - a private tour. On day 3 it became apparent that the area was at risk to avalanches and we were advised to change our trek. We were happy to do this and take our guide's advice, so we ventured to another area - unfortunately due to ice on the ridge we again had to make a decision to re think our plans. We agreed that we would like to see more of the villages, Nepal way of life, so we ventured lower - some quite tough walking still, but through forests and villages. The original plan went our the window but we had an amazing, wonderful trip. Our guide's knowledge meant we saw ladies making butter from the Water Buffalo milk, we tasted Millet Liquor, we rescued a tired Buffalo, held baby goats, chatted to locals and children, and saw the most spectacular scenery both mountainous and farming and village life. - Absolutely wonderful
