A great trip!

This trip had 2 years in the planning due to Covid delays, any concerns and questions were always handled promptly by Harry Gray at Mountain Kingdom, the flights and transfers were all arranged and the company organising the trek up Killi took care of all our requirements. The trek itself was a fabulous experience, the guides , cook and porters were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. We had medical checks morning and evening. Summit day was a hard but unforgettable experience. A great trip.

Great experience and huge sense of achievement!

I trekked the Lemosho Route up Mount Kilimanjaro on February 2022. It was a great experience. Mountain Kingdoms did an excellent job sorting out the arrangements, which had to be changed several times because of the Covid pandemic. On the ground in in Tanzania everything worked excellently well and the trek team did an outstanding job of looking after us, both in terms of taking very good care to get us properly acclimatised and just generally in the friendly, good-humoured way they looked after us. The trek is not for the faint-hearted and deserves its 'strenuous' rating, but with good preparation and taking account of the first-class advice from the guides we made it to the top, which gave a real sense of achievement and is something I shall remember for a long time - a high point in every sense!

Wildlife sightings of a life time

Uganda was so much more than expected. A beautiful country with a greater than expected range of environments, from mountains to lakes and from tea plantations to pineapple farms. This trip combines the classic African savannah and its wildlife with mountain and water wildlife experiences culminating in an amazing day in the jungle with the mountain gorillas. If you love Africa you will not be disappointed by the opportunities to meet the local people, experience their lives and look in wonder on the Big 5, the great apes and outstanding birdlife

Summits of Meru & Kilimanjaro

Ascending Meru & Kilimanjaro proved an excellent combination as the former allowed us to acclimatise very effectively for the latter. The contrast in the wildlife & plantlife to be seen, as well as the numbers of walkers on the 2 mountains, were also worthwhile. There was also a lovely symmetry in being able to see one mountain from the other. The local Guide & his team of assistant guides, cook, waiter, toilet team & porters were superb & very friendly.

Kilimanjaro all the way

Excellent holiday, all staff and porters could not be more helpful. Good food good equipment. Made it to the top without painkillers or altitude sickness etc but it was so much harder than I thought it would be. Especially the trekking between camps. Don’t underestimate the trip!

Hill Country Heights.

One excellent aspect of our trip was that we spent several days completely away from the tourist route. We met Sri Lankans going about their daily lives and all were welcoming and friendly. On most other days we encountered few tourists. The trek took us through countryside, tea plantations and villages we would never have been able to see on our own. Views were excellent and we saw many birds including several Sri Lankan endemics. We particularly enjoyed staying in the colonial hotel at Bandarawela and the colonial tea estate bungalow in Dickoya. At mealtimes we always chose the Sri Lankan dishes and they were invariably excellent.

Davison/ Kessler in Kerala

Because everything was so well organised, we were able to fully enjoy all the delights that India was able to offer. We stayed in interesting, comfortable accommodation - each leaving us with lovely memories and adventures. Everything seemed to work seamlessly and we felt fully supported by Mountain Kingdom and their colleagues throughout the holiday. We could not have asked for anything better....it all exceeded our expectations.

A real life affirming experience

A real life affirming experience. I have always dreamed of making this trip and a recent sabbatical from work allowed me to do so. I cannot remember the last time I wrote to a company to commend their service but felt compelled to do so on this occasion! The obvious planning that has gone into the itinerary shows through. Some off the best days were the acclimatisation days off the beaten track. Our guide was sensational. He really fostered a great group spirit and got all 10 of us onto the Base Camp. An incredible achievement. Nothing was too much trouble for the whole team. I cannot praise him and his team highly enough. I have already recommended this trip to three people who were contemplating the trek. Already looking at your brochure for next year! Good Job!

EBC in Style - November 2019

Outstanding experience, from beginning to end! This trip is definitely a life-list adventure for anyone who loves the mountains. The scenery is world class, and the infrastructure provides an accessible means to high-altitude trekking. The local staff were exceptional, from our guides, Kami and Phurba, who were very knowledgeable, experienced, and attentive, to the hard-working porters and excellent service at the Everest Summit Lodges. To top it off, the weather in November was perfect. Throughout the process, Mountain Kingdoms made the journey a pleasure to accomplish. Highly recommended!

Amazing Annapurna Trek - Private Departure

The Annapurna Circuit was beautiful. Highly recommended for the incomparable, stunning scenery of the Annapurna Region. If you're up for a more rigorous trek, I'd recommend a less traveled area (Nar-Phu) because of increasing roads and crowds. This is an overall great introduction to Nepalese culture and beauty.

Morocco Coastal Trek & Essaouira

Easy Morocco trek

This was a delightfully relaxing combination of a fairly easy trek taking in superb coastal scenery and the fascinating sights of Marrakech and Essaouira. Just the right balance of seaside and souks!

Historical Ethiopia

What a fantastic trip! Just the right blend of historical sights and walking in spectacular scenery. It went way beyond all my expectations.

Gentle Trekking & Luxury Lodges, Annapurna Foothills - Private Departure

A fabulous holiday - about 4-5 hours of walking each day (each day is different) with beautiful scenery and walking through remote villages. Every afternoon there is some down time, so a good time to relax and detox! Everyone is very welcoming and service is amazing.

An amazing trip and the scenery was WOW!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Had an absolutely fabulous time trekking the Annapurna Foothills... everything was so well organised and our guides and porters all did a fabulous job. The scenery was outstanding and as a keen photographer I had a field day! Thank you Mountain Kingdoms, I will be back!

Three High Passes to Everest

Three High Passes

The trip is tough mentally and physically. Expect some tough days and washing your armpits in a dog bowl. However, Nepal is amazing and the whole trip was too much to absorb! I highly recommend the trip

Hidden Valleys of Bhutan

Unforgettable experience

It was very good to have the mix of sightseeing and trekking. Walking in the beautiful countryside was a nice counterbalance to the temples and Dzongs, and gave an insight to everyday rural life. Seeing the Black Necked Crane Festival was one of the highlights, as was the trek to the Tiger Nest Monastery. Staying in a homestay was interesting - definitely worthwhile and an opportunity to have a Hot Stone Bath. It's a wonderful country - lovely people, stunning countryside - but be prepared to come home tired. To make the most of the time there, you inevitably have to move from hotel to hotel and there's not much down time.

Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek

This trip was exactly as I hoped: breathtaking views, incredible food, and amazing people. The trek itself was great but wouldn't have been as good without the Nepalese guides and people to meet along the way.

A fantastic trip

This is a fantastic trip with time spent refreshing skills on the Trift Glacier, an ascent of two 4000m mountains which are superb climbing objectives in their own right. The Saas Grund Valley is the perfect place to acclimatise for Monte Rosa as both the routes and the huts are quieter than around Chamonix/Mont Blanc area and therefore you have a much more relaxing and enjoyable experience. The Monte Rosa hut is a new building (2009) and provides great food and accommodation. Monte Rosa is a wonderful mountain to climb, with great views, not too technically challenging but extremely rewarding. Kevin O'Neale is a highly experienced IFMGA guide with many years of alpine guiding under his belt, so you are in a very safe pair of hands

Complete Patagonia - Paine & Fitz Roy

Patagonia from all sides.

Exceptional trip. Really well organised, fantastic scenery, wildlife and flora. Excellent tour guides. Stunning walks.

Three High Passes to Everest

Three High Passes - trek of a lifetime!

This was a superb walking holiday in what must be some of the grandest scenery in the world. It was great to experience the wider range of scenery and views on the Three High Passes trek (compared to the basic Everest Base Camp route), and also to venture into valleys and over passes with many fewer people than the main EBC route. The views from the Renjo La, and Kongma La especially were absolutely stunning. I think MK's choice to do the trek in the clockwise direction was a good decision, and the acclimatisation schedule certainly worked fairly well for me, with no more than occasional minor headaches. The small group (6 clients, 2 sherpa guides and 3 porters) was a good size, we bonded well and the sherpa guides were very attentive and responsive to our needs. Visiting the Everest region has always been high on my wish list, and this trek more than lived up to expectations. A trip I will remember for ever, for all the right reasons! Thank you MK and the local team in Nepal!
