Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes
The organisation of the trip from beginning to end was outstanding. From the moment we were met in Nepal we never had to lift our bags again and they miraculously appeared in our room every day. The trekking staff were excellent, very attentive and always ready to lend a reassuring helping hand on any tricky bits. The right pace was set by our excellent leader with lots of rest stops. As the oldest couple in our group we never felt under pressure.
Fantastic experience
Everything was organised fantastically well - all I had to do for the entire trip was get up and walk. I will definitely be booking another trip with Mountain Kingdoms in the future. Thanks for a fantastic experience that I will never forget.
Beautiful mountains
It was a delight from start to finish - the friendly and curious people, the lovely terraced hillsides from Darchula to Dumlin, then the drama of the Mahakali Gorge, the villages of Tinkar and Chongru, the valleys of Tinkar, Nampa and Api, and especially the beautiful mountains.
Worth the effort - Api Base Camp
These are mountains that do not shout in your face - you have to seek them out, but it is well worth the effort. A wonderful trek.
Best trek I've ever been on - Annapurna Sanctuary
Annapurna Sanctuary is the best trek I've ever been on - amazing scenery, superb organisation and friendly, competent trek staff.
Well-paced route - Annapurna Circuit
I enjoyed everything about travelling with MK. A group of 12 people, diverse in age and background with a common purpose. A trek leader with attention to detail, encyclopaedic local knowledge and experience and a sense of humour. A well planned and well-paced route.
Memorable experience
What we have done is just beginning to sink in. It was a memorable experience - and a really good holiday and also quite an achievement for us. Our extension days in Pokhara and Kathmandu were really enjoyable and we were greatly assisted in Kathmandu by your local agents in Kathmandu who helped us with extra day trips which were greatly enhanced by perfect weather.
Excellently balanced
The trek was excellently balanced and gave the opportunity to experience two different cultures. Guide teams and porters were excellent.
Remarkable holiday in Bhutan
A very special 'thank you' must be extended to our guide and driver. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the range of aspects and adapted the itinerary to our personal wishes and abilities. His English was excellent and at times we had to remember he was Bhutanese. He certainly went out of his way to show us places that might easily have been missed or not strictly on the itinerary. Altogether, a most remarkable and special holiday. Thank you.
Good itinerary Bhutan
A shorter version of our popular Gentle Walking Bhutan, perfect if you are short on time or want to combine your holiday with another destination.
Thunder Dragon Trails - Helpful staff
The pre-trip information and advice was excellent and very comprehensive. MK staff were very helpful and answered all our queries. The arrangements worked flawlessly and the people who met us for transfers to and from our flights were most helpful and efficient.
Mount Chomolhari - beautiful trek
This was a beautiful trek. The service and trekking staff were very good with just the right mix of trekking and cultural visits.
Mount Chomolhari - ran like clockwork
All the organisation before and during the holiday that MK could control ran like clockwork. The company always seems to attract like-minded people and our trekking group all got on extremely well and were great company.
Fantastic holiday
Overall a fantastic holiday - good mix of trekking, scenery and culture. We were treated extremely well on trek - food, service - and not having to put up our own tents were all great!
Haa Valley - remote and unspoilt
The Haa valley and its surrounding mountains are tight up against the borders of Sikkim and Tibet, and until relatively recent times was off-limits to foreign visitors. I carried out the reconnaissance trek and can say that not only is the Haa valley as beautiful as any of the better known Bhutan valleys, but the mountains that wrap around it are uninhabited, wild, and make for extremely exciting exploration. You may even bump into Bhutanese smugglers who trade illicitly with their neighbours in Tibet! The scenery is fabulous and the sense of being somewhere untouched by the outside world is magnified as it is so unspoilt.
Ideal group size
The group was small enough to give an intimate view of Bhutan. Our guide and driver were excellent and the choice of areas to visit gave us an insight into both rural and town life in Bhutan. The stay in Gangtey valley was wonderful.
First class organisation
First class organisation and one felt very safe at all times. Excellent guides and fun everyday.
Excellent trip leaders
Both leaders in Burma and Bhutan were excellent. In Burma in particular, the support of a good local guide was essential especially with visits to the various markets and workshops. In Bhutan, Temsing even arranged an archery morning for us which proved to be quite competitive!
I was not disappointed
Émy hopes and expectations were very high and I was not disappointed - it was a superb holiday.
Definitive Cultural Tour of Bhutan - Remarkable
I was extremely impressed with your company's trip planning, itinerary and general organisation. I really loved my holiday. Thank you for taking me to the most remarkable place.
