Olathang Hotel

Situated on a hill overlooking the town of Paro, the Olathang was built for the coronation of Bhutan's 4th King in 1974 and still retains more than a hint of its original grandeur. Rooms in the main building are set around a peaceful courtyard and there are also a number of cottages dotted around the spacious grounds. Decoration is typically Bhutanese with stripped wooden floors and colourfully painted walls. Rooms are well-equipped and the hotel has its own spa, international restaurant and bar. If you want to feel like a local, we recommend a dip in the hot stone bath.
