Village Homestay

For a truly authentic glimpse of Bhutanese rural life, why not spend a night or two of your holiday in a village homestay. Approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan they are located in gorgeous countryside in the valleys of Haa, Paro and Gangtey. Facilities may be simple but they all have bags of character and give you the rare opportunity to experience the daily life and traditions of a typical local family. Meals, in some cases, can be taken with the family and the food is delicious - but go easy on the chillies! Electricity is available in some of the homestays and all will provide hot water for washing. There may even be the chance to enjoy a hot stone bath, try your hand at archery, learn to cook like a local or take a tour of the family farm.
